LEGACY AMBASSADORS - VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

 

The Legacy Ambassador Team is a group of enthusiastic, passionate and motivated members of the Legacy community who are the heart and soul of operations. Legacy Ambassadors are assistants, guides, and leaders at our club and are an integral part of the overall Legacy community. The team will support both operations and community building aimed to foster a positive and safe space for members to learn, grow, and connect with fellow members through the art of muay thai and jiu jitsu. 

 

Members of the Legacy Ambassador Team will gain valuable leadership, communication and event management skills through assisting with day-to-day operations, special events and by being a resource for fellow Legacy members. Legacy Ambassadors are encouraged to contribute new ideas to further enhance experiences for the Legacy community. 

 

Legacy Ambassadors will be supported by and work closely with Nga and the coaches at Legacy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS || KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ABILITIES 

 

• Current Legacy member at Fight Club (Barrie) or Stronghold (Mississauga) 

• Be a positive role model and possess good judgment and decision-making skills 

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills 

• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing processes

• Demonstrate a willingness to take initiative, manage tasks with varying levels of supervision, and ask for help when needed or required

• Passionate about fostering a positive atmosphere at Legacy 

• Positive, friendly and helpful attitude when communicating with members, coaches and  customers 

• Self-starter, enjoys taking initiative

• Values being a team player

• Committed to the role for the Fall 2022 term (September - December 2022)

 

AS A LEGACY AMBASSADOR, YOU WILL…

 

• Contribute ideas to further engage the Legacy community as well as share suggestions to improve Legacy where appropriate 

• Hone in on your customer service, communication, event management skills 

• Position yourself as a leader within the Legacy community 

• Build confidence through sharing your experiences and introducing new members / visitors to Legacy

• Have fun connecting with new and current members – sharing your experiences  

• Represent Legacy as a committed, positive, and enthusiastic team member  

• Work with other highly motivated Legacy members and build meaningful friendships 

 

LEGACY AMBASSADOR - Legacy Kids Program Assistant 

Positions Available: 2-4
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week

Responsibilities: 

• Assist in set-up and clean-up of equipment

• Support instructors in delivery of kids muay thai classes 

• Record attendance for afterschool kids program participants 

• Under guidance of instructor, lead class in drills / exercises when appropriate

• Respond to / re-direct inquiries questions and/or feedback from members to instructor 

• Assist with ensuring members are aware of any program changes or cancellations (Ex: holiday class schedule)

• Note that role | responsibilities may vary slightly as program feedback is received and updates | adjustments are adapted to ensure quality and integrity of program 

• Training will be provided

LEGACY AMBASSADOR - GENERAL DUTIES

Positions Available: 1-2
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week 

​

Responsibilities: 

• This is an ideal role for someone who wants to be a part of the Legacy Ambassador Team but requires a little more flexibility in scheduling

• There is no set ‘shift’ time for this role, you will work with Nga to confirm when you would come in for 2 hours between 8PM Fridays and 4PM Mondays

• Thorough clean and tidy of the gym

• Areas to be cleaned/ kept orderly include but not limited too - mats, stairs, washroom, ring, weight lifting area, windows, mirrors, etc. 

• Training will be provided 

 

LEGACY AMBASSADOR - OPERATIONS 

Positions Available: 4-6
Time Commitment: 3.5-4 hours per week

• Mondays 5:30pm-9:15pm 

• Tuesdays 5:30pm-9:15pm 

• Thursdays 5:30pm-9:15pm 

• Wednesdays 5:30pm-8:45pm

Responsibilities: 

• Be the face of the Legacy to members of the community as well as prospective members 

• Provide exceptional customer service to all members, non-members and guests of Legacy

• Welcome members and visitors to Legacy and providing accurate information concerning programmes and activities

• Using your experience and training provided, answer questions about Legacy - classes, the community, memberships, grab and go, apparel, etc… 

• Provide tours to prospective members when necessary  

• Assist with special events (holiday parties, socials, etc…)

• Assist with fight events, tournaments, etc… when necessary  

• Ensure all participants trialing a class have completed a waiver online

• Complete ‘opening’ and ‘closing’ checklists during every 5:30PM-9:15PM shift 

• Maintain a clean and tidy environment, both at reception and with gym equipment

• Assist with ensuring members are aware of any program changes or cancellations (Ex: holiday class schedule

• Assist in set-up and clean-up of equipment

• Training will be provided
