Muay thai sometimes referred to as thai boxing, is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs," as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins. -a wiki definition

A TYPICAL 1 HR CLASS:

1. Conditioning & dynamic stretching
Conditioning includes a variety of different exercises that will increase the heart rate and improve muscular strength and endurance. Exercises can include basic body based movements like pushups, squats, burpees, jumping jacks, running man, high knees etc. Sometimes we incorporate skipping and utilize other special equipment like weights, kettlebells, etc. It is up to the coach’s discretion.

2. Shadowboxing
Shadowboxing is an activity where you are performing your strikes against an imaginary opponent. The goal here is to refine technique as well as visualizing yourself sparring against an opponent in order to work on agility and muscle memory.

3. The Lesson
This section of the class consist of padwork and partner drills as forms of learning muay thai.
